If you're using a Mac computer and want to log in to your email account using IMAP, follow these steps:

Open Apple Mail: Launch the Apple Mail application. You can find it in your Applications folder or by searching using Spotlight (Cmd + Space, then type "Mail").
Add a New Account:
In the top menu, click on "Mail" and select "Add Account..."
Choose "Other Mail Account" and click "Continue."
Enter Your Information:
Full Name: Your name as you want it to appear in outgoing emails.
Email Address: Enter your full email address (e.g., yourname@thelakerestaurant.nl).
Password: Type in the password associated with your email account.
Click "Sign In."
Configure Server Settings:
Account Type: Select "IMAP."
Incoming Mail Server: Enter "mail.thelakerestaurant.nl."
User Name: Your email address.
Password: Should already be populated.
Click "Sign In."
Verify Account Settings:
Mail will attempt to contact the server and verify your settings.
If asked, choose the apps that you want to use with this account (Mail, Contacts, Calendars, etc.).
Configure Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP):
Choose "Edit SMTP Server List" from the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) dropdown.
Click the "+" button to add a new server.
Enter the following:
Server Name: "mail.thelakerestaurant.nl"
Port: 587
Use TLS Certificate: Check this box.
Authentication: Select "Password."
User Name: Your email address.
Password: Your email password.
Click "OK."
Finalize Setup:
Back in the Account Summary window, ensure your settings are correct.
Optionally, you can choose which apps to use with this account.
Click "Done."
Access Your Emails:
Apple Mail will start syncing your mailbox.
You'll see your emails, folders, and other mailbox contents in the Mail app.
Congratulations! You've successfully logged in to your email account using IMAP on your Mac. Now you can manage your emails seamlessly across all your devices. Remember to keep your password secure and consider enabling two-factor authentication for added security.
